One equal temper of heroic hearts

Despite the enterprising efforts of explorers like Cook and Shackleton, much of the Antarctic wilderness remains unmapped and unexplored. Marie Byrd Land, for instance, which hangs like an awkward limb off the west side of the continent, has been designated almost uninhabitable, and claims on the ice shelf have gone largely unconsidered by many sovereign nations.

I would love to be vacationing there right about now.
