Does anyone have access to any Doctor Who audiobooks? I'm trying to make an inventory of things that I can listen to/watch while I'm on the plane to London.

I've got Sarah Jane audios. They're not from Sarah jane Adventures, they're from before her show and they're not audio books they're dramas.. like acted out. I might have some Ten/Rose books somewhere too, I shall have to take a look around.

Ideally something with Ten, but I'm open to anything Whovian.

I've got an audiobook of The Stone Rose for Ten. Also only the first half of The Resurrection Casket.

Other than that I've got a metric FUCKTON of Classic Show audios, including a couple that feature David Tennant but not as the Doctor. I think they're UNIT audios?

Also a couple of Sarah Jane Adventures audios, from her new show.

Anything special you fancy?

I would love to hear some of the Classic Shows, as read by David Tennant. Of course, anything that you would be willing to give would be absolutely awesome. :)

Oh, no, the classic ones are full on audio plays! They're done by a company called big finish and they're whole stories in their own right. They're FANTASTIC, they feature Doctors 5 through 8 with a variety of companions, some who appeared on the old show (like Ace and Nyssa and Turlough) and some entirely new (Charley, Evelyn, Lucie). They're a whole lot of fun and you can jump in anywhere, especially with audio only companions. Bit harder with TV companions.

David Tennant has a bit part in a couple of them, it features him in a German accent. The ones he's in are all about UNIT, they were the big military organisation in the Sontaran two parter?

And then I've got David Tennant reading some book tie-ins for the new series. So they're new adventures with the Doctor and Rose as read by him. I'll def send you those. What's a working email of yours?

Wonderful! I've wanted to learn more about Classic Who for a long time now. I always feel like kind of newbie impostor, what with all the hanging on I've done for the new series. I would be happy -- and very excited -- to hear these!

You can reach me at ithilrian @ gmail dot com

And if there's any way I can make it up to you, please let me know. I have the audio book for The Scarlet Pimpernel, as read by Hugh Laurie, if you'd like it. I also have Three Men And A Boat, by Jerome K. Jerome (also read by Hugh Laurie).

Eeee, how exciting! The audios aren't really the best place to start but expect an email from me later this evening with a wee primer of what I'm sending you for the plane and then recomendations of what to watch of actual TV old Who rather than audio format.

I would LOVE The Scarlet Pimpernel please!

Alas, I do not have Dr. Who audiobooks. but I do have Dresden Files audiobooks! They are shiny and read by James Marsters and he does voices for all the characters. Did I mention they are shiny? :)

There are samples of the audio on Jim's site:

Storm Front samples here

If you like - lemme know.

Matt, you're a wonder. I'm not leaving for London until July 23rd. You have plenty of time. Anything that you could give would be very, very well received.

You may find they have a gazillion movies/TV programmes you want to watch on the plane anyway. It's not like the bad old days when you got precisely one movie on international flights.

I always seem to end up watching CSI: Miami. I wouldn't go near it on the ground, but there's something strangely soothing about watching David Caruso take his sunglasses off when I'm flying for 14 hours. I put it down to lack of oxygen in the cabin.

Lack of oxygen may be the only way that any civilized human being can tolerate David Caruso.
