As a writer myself, I have to say that I'm completely in support of the writers' strike. I believe that all artists -- whether or not their medium is music, paint, or the printed word -- deserve to be recognized for their efforts and deserve to have those efforts rewarded.

That being said, I just looked at the strike list, scrolled down to the House entry, and saw that David Shore was the only writer listed. What the fuck, David Shore? How many episodes did you write last year? One? Maybe? I'm sorry. You don't need any more money. Pawn the Emmy you won for "Three Stories" if you're strapped for cash.

Okay, so David Shore is the "showrunner", who speaks for all of the writers on the set. I get that. Still. Couldn't they have picked someone a little better? I'm a Doris Egan fangirl. DORIS. CALL ME -- WE'LL FIGHT THE POWER TOGETHER.

I think you're absolutely right. There are few things worse than not being recognized for hard work and being rewarded for it.

But..David Shore? David freaking Shore? No kidding, pawn off the Emmy or other items from the House set on eBay if things are that bad.

I'm a little snappy today, but. XD

Oh, he's probably not doing it for the money. I'm sure he's ennobled and doing it for the principle of the thing. Which is fantastic.

But if you're going to have a helmsman for a sort-of-grassroots-Rebels-of-the-Empire cause, wouldn't you want someone a little less...David Shore?

I think we need Team Doris icons. Because Doris Egan? Rules. There aren't many other ways to say it other than that. Think she'd be a good helmswoman for the cause?

Of course I do. Anyone who writes episodes involving

a. House competing with a deity
b. ROAD TRIP HOUSE

is definitely a horse I'd back.

Am I the only one who liked One Day, One Room? *looks around*

So wait, does that mean that House would shut down production if they ran out of scripts if only Shore is on that list? I don't get it. I want to know to see if poor Hugh may get a chance for a well deserved mental health break.

Doris Egan should write EVERY EPISODE.

I think "One Day, One Room" was David Shore's yearly philosophy lesson. He practically slapped us all in the face with existentialism. I'd rather be slapped with something more conclusive.

I can't say. I know that people have been saying that they've got enough scripts to go through the end of the year. After that, it's pretty much up in the air. The shows hit hardest are the ones that don't have new episodes ordered -- some of the newer shows, I think, whose mettle is still being proved. I'd love to see Hugh get a break. I'd sacrifice a few weeks of episodes for that, no question.

I know. I love her.

Ah I see. See, for me not knowing much about philosophy and that I get all excited when they integrate it into the episode. Sure, other times its more sutble, but House seemed to return to Season One days. And for once House respects the young woman, lol.

Its kind of funny how I'm all for this strike. The writers do deserve a bigger cut of the profits. The only show that I watch regularly enough right now that may be affected is obviously House, whereby its Hugh's mental health that I'm thinking of the most. The other two I can think of that I kind of watch are Bones and Family Guy, and I haven't really bothered to look into how they are affected. CSI I haven't watched in quite a while... *shrug*

I think she knows who these characters are better than Shore does now, haha.

What do you think of Bones this season?

I like it. I haven't reached the point where the show is a absolute must watch every week for me, but its nice to watch nonetheless. :) I missed the last two though. Its too bad Booth's shrink won't be coming back.

Stephen Fry could read government contracts and I'd still be slack-jawed in admiration.
