Hannibal Rising was nauseatingly disappointing.

Anyone need a doorstop?

Best. Line. Ever.

That's kinda how I felt when I finished reading The Old Man and the Sea. Guh.

Oh man. I would have supplied Hemingway the shotgun myself if I'd been alive and able.

As huge a fan of the novels as I've been, I must agree. I do not, however, think it was nauseatingly disappointing. Mr. Harris' technique was really showing, and he seems to have reached the point of going back to the same literary trough one too many times.

With De Laurentiis seeding said trough. It's hardly a coincidence that the release of the book and the release of the movie are scheduled within the same six month period.

...I didn't even make it past the first 80 pages. And I'll read anything. Very disappointing.

Red Dragon was too raw; Hannibal -- though poetic -- was too soft. Silence was just about perfect.

Hannibal Rising...I don't even know. "Tomato left out in the sun" comes to mind.
