We're on the run, I can see it in your eyes
Todd bought me a gym membership -- well, he added me to his plan -- a couple of months ago and I've been going to the gym almost religiously, three or four times a week. I run a couple of miles, bike, then do about fifty to fifty-five minutes on the elliptical machine. I've never really been into fitness for fitness' sake, but I started running around the neighborhood earlier this year (a circuit of about 2.1 miles) and I really enjoyed the feeling of accomplishment I'd get when I was done. Owing to the weather (and the fact that the sidewalks in my neighborhood freeze over at the drop of a hat), the gym membership has really worked out well. Now, I'm relatively fit to begin with -- I get good metabolism from both sides of my family -- and I've never really needed to worry about my weight. When I started working out, I told myself that I was just going to do it for me; that I wouldn't have a set goal in my head as far as total weight loss, or inches dropped. I was working out because it made me feel better about myself. But I knew I wanted to make some improvements (writers are almost, by their nature, sedentary creatures) and that whatever weight I dropped, I'd be satisfied.
I weighed myself after I got in from the gym this afternoon. In two months, I've dropped fifteen pounds. I'm at the weight I was at when I was a sophomore in high school. This is nothing short of awesome.
And adding to my vacation productivity (the office is closed until January 2nd -- I have paid holiday time), I got my car serviced yesterday and today I took it over to the body shop to get an estimate on the fender bender damage I incurred when some guy with a battering ram on the front of his Jeep ran into me in September. His insurance is going to pay for it -- good thing, because I don't have an extra $600 lying around -- and I'll be able to get it fixed after the first of the year. Tomorrow? Passport.
gleam bought me a map of London for Christmas and I've been poring over the street grid, trying to figure out where Todd and I should go first. We're planning to take a cruise around the British Isles in July of the upcoming year: 11 ports of call in France, Britain and Ireland. I want to know where I'm going. And what pubs we should hit first.
Fantastic day. I'm so motivated I could scream.

If you were a tv show, this would be the kind of OTPesque thing I'd flail over. Too cute.
I totally get you - I've never had to worry about my weight either, I can't gain it even when I TRY. It's great that you exercise anyway, and congrats on the new figure!
And you will have SUCH fun in London, how exciting!

And the London map! I'm so glad that you're happy with that part of your gift. PUBS. Lots of them. I'm sure you'll make up a fantastic plan!
And in case you couldn't tell? I'M HOME!

You're beautiful: inside and out.
And your present is coming, I promise. Probably after the first of the year when the post office dies down.

Thank you so much love, and YAY FOR PRESSIES! And YAY for our Sorina/Rowe, oh my gosh.

Did you see? I posted again. I had to create a new comment to the post because things were getting squished and, duh, realized after I'd done it that I was replying to my own post and that you wouldn't get a notification. Anyway. It's there. And you could cut the sexual tension with one of Sorina's stiletto heels, muh gawd.
