At least I'm reading.

I'm reading this biography of Cicero and, because it's told in what very closely approximates a narrative style, I keep imagining Hugh Laurie as the face of the great orator.

....That's weird, right?

Right.

Not at all. Not when you have Hugh on the brain.

You're right. It'll only get weird when I start seeing Stephen Fry as Titus Pomponius. XD

Toga, toga!

Nah. I mean, think about it. Hugh Laurie in a toga. It makes me simultaneously go "Guh." and giggle at the same time!

Love your icon. I wrote a paper on imperial iconography when I was in college.

Thanks! It's David Bamber playing Cicero in 'Rome'. I saw the episode just after we'd studied sculpture in Roman Art & Architecture and when I saw him raise his arm like that I immediately thought 'ADLOCUTIO!'. I was so proud of myself for recognizing the pose. :D

YOU WIN AT EVERYTHING.

Great orator indeed. Would you like a pickle?

YES PLEASE.
