We are only getting better.
Mar. 9th, 2011 08:42 pmTomorrow is the last official day of classes for Spring 1, 2011. Graduation will be on Friday and, though I don't know any of the students who are leaving the program, it will be great to get together with all of the other students to wish them well. I'm pre-heating the oven and will shortly throw in a batch of shamrock cookies to take to RW class tomorrow, when we'll be watching the movie version of The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe. Though I've seen my share of challenges, overall my first term of teaching has been a wonderful experience. I don't dread getting out of bed in the morning (well, not much, anyway) and I am usually very happy with the work I've done at the end of the day. But, really, it's the students who make it worth it. I have been so fortunate to have been given this opportunity to teach others and to be taught by them in return. I don't know if this is what I'm meant to do forever, but for my life, now, I really can't see myself doing anything else.
That's not to say I'm not looking forward to a week off. Good lord, am I looking forward to a week off.
Gonna' check on those cookies, sync my iPod, and probably head to bed. (I am also looking forward to a week when I do not go to bed at 9:00. Whew.)
