I was not prepared for this, even though I went to the laundry facility this morning with a ripe roll of quarters in my hand (and, stupidly enough, after having walked out of the apartment without the detergent and fabric softener). I remember living in the dorms, where washing and drying a load of laundry ran you fifty cents a turn. (Of course, this was the same dormitory where some of the underclassmen put their plastic bowls and cutlery in the dryer to dry them off, which resulted in a couple of small fires and quite a few new Frisbees.) But I got some reading in for Music and Psychology while I was there today, so it wasn't a total wash. (Ha. That's right folks, I'm a graduate student of English.)
Also, I saw this great advertisement posted on the cork board in the laundry room:
FOR SALE

Got fat. Don't care anymore.
$100 or best offer.
Who says there isn't any honesty in advertising?
