'Went home for Easter and had a wonderful time with my family. I spent most of last night in the kitchen with my mom, baking cookies and making casseroles. There's something absolutely permanent about being home. My parents and I are getting along better than we ever have before. I think they're both pleased to see how well their kids are doing. My brother's at the top of his class at Manchester, and he has aspirations of becoming a lawyer after he graduates. I'm so proud of him. And, to have a lawyer and a doctor in the family? My parents have hit the genepool jackpot. Plus, I think my brother and I are at the point now -- moreso than ever before -- where we're actually beginning to take the shape of the people we'll be for the rest of our lives. My brother is smart, funny, compassionate. It's amazing to compare the man he is now with the little brother I used to spar with on the living room sofa.
Todd and I are celebrating our two-year anniversary tomorrow. We're not in a financial position to do anything extravagant, but we're going to at least go out to dinner and exchange gifts. My mom asked me if I thought it seemed like we'd been together for two years. I hesitated and said, yes, in some ways it had. There are times when we feel absolutely comfortable with one another, almost like we've been together forever. But there are still things I'm learning about him. It keeps it interesting.
I've got to get caught up on RP threads and e-mails. How were your Easter weekends?
ETA: Also? 'Got that haircut. One of my cousins is a cosmetologist-in-training and she chopped my locks for about $15. I like it. It's very Kate Beckett-ish.
ETA 2: 'Always liked Passover ceremonies more than Easter ones. I went to a Passover seder when I was in college. I've never felt more at home during a religious ceremony.
