Like there's something in the air
Oct. 1st, 2008 10:38 pmBadly in need of a holiday, Todd and I are heading off to Indy tomorrow night for a weekend concertcation. We're seeing Ryan Adams tomorrow night, staying over in Indianapolis, then coming home in time to see Ben Folds here in town on Friday night. I've seen both of these artists before -- Ryan last year with Todd; Ben Folds with
luuser two years ago in Ann Arbor -- and I'm looking forward to seeing them again. It'll also be nice to get away, if only for a night. Traveling with Todd is great because, like me, he's fond of structure, but he doesn't get uptight when we decide to do something extemporaneous and unplanned.
We're also due to hear back from the apartment complex tomorrow. Last weekend, we went upstate to look at flats near the university; we found one that we really liked and filled out an application. It's a waiting game at this point while they run a credit check and make sure that we're not checking out anything unseemly from our local library branch (anything by Stephenie Meyer, for instance -- "dazzling" is a criminal offense, as outlined in the Patriot Act). We're hopeful. Both Todd and I have excellent credit history and, without beer in our hands, we both look like very responsible young people. I promise.
I hope we get this place. Because I'm already picking out furniture.
