So it was either The Book Of The Dead or "Jeeves & Wooster" headlining my lunch break today and, aware of the sound level that the latter would produce (because that series invokes almost instantaneous laughter in me), I went with the book.

...And noticed an inconsistency of fact on page 50.

TAYLOR STUDENTS MISIDENTIFIED
UPLAND, Ind. -- Taylor University says an 18-year-old student who authorities said died in an April 26th interstate pile up was misidentified as one of her classmates injured in the crash and is recovering in a Michigan hospital. Whitney Cerak of Gaylord, Michigan, has been hospitalized under the name of 22-year-old Laura VanRyn.

They had a funeral. For the girl they thought was dead. Who was really alive. Because they thought the girl who actually died was alive.

Don't they have papertrails for this kind of thing?
