Of being and laziness

The roads have been deemed too hazardous to drive on (rain's freezing on top of the already treacherous amounts of ice) so I canceled my optometrist's appointment and rescheduled for after the first of the year. I don't know what to do with myself on a Friday, at ten o'clock in the morning, not at work.

Christmas was a pretty wickedly subdued event this year. My brother and I woke up at about eight thirty, opened presents, then cleaned the house for company. We picked up my grandmother and brought her back to the house. Todd arrived for dinner a few minutes later, and we all sat down together and pretended to argue and snipe at one another like a dysfunctional family from the Hamptons. Todd and I had our gift exchange (he bought me TiVo!) and then we pretty much called it an early evening. I forgot that Christmas is a pretty draining experience.

Now I think I'm going to go watch the Doctor Who Christmas special. And have a nap. BECAUSE I AM ON VAY-KAY-SHUN.

Napping and TV watching are great ways to spend vacation.

Also, writing with friends. ;) After I get back from taking advantage of the post-Christmas Day sales, I'm totally going to lounge around with my new computer.

I'm so glad I got to spend Christmas with you. :) And even more so that you had a great holiday. Be careful on those roads, though - I want you in one piece!
